PSG are worried about to let Neymar leave for Barcelona on loan because they will not be able to afford Paulo Dybala, French football insider Julian Laurens claims.
“The issue mostly is that they want to reinvest the money that the departure of Neymar will bring,” he explained on ESPN FC.
“It would be stupid to let Neymar go for not that much money and then have to spend more money to replace him.
“If you’re thinking of Paulo Dybala for example, who would clearly be a target if Neymar was to go, it would cost them far more than the €40m [£36m] cash Barcelona are giving them now.
“That’s not good business from PSG.
“In a way, they feel they’re in a strong position because they can reject those bids and say ‘well, hang on, that €40m won’t bring us anyone and we need to replace Neymar now’.
“They need more than one player to replace Neymar, and for €40m you can’t even get Ale [Alejandro Moreno] and Brian [McBride] right now for example.
“What would they get with €40m? That’s not enough.”
